INSIGNEO Workstations
---------------------

INSIGNEO has two high-performance communal workstations:

These run **Windows** Server 2012 and can be used for tasks requiring **lots of RAM** or **GPU acceleration**.
All user accounts are locally defined (i.e. are unrelated to IT Services accounts) so you will need to request a new username and password for each machine.
**Remote access**: all local users can remotely access the machines using `Remote Desktop <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_Desktop_Protocol>`_.

Only one person can use each machine at once, so **access is managed using shared Google Calendars**:
